I’m Zayan Aly, a computer science PhD student at UT Dallas working at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and machine learning.
My background combines industrial engineering, computer science, and applied machine-learning research.
I earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating cum laude.
My experience at Idaho National Laboratory and UT Arlington spans autonomous inspection, anomaly detection, robotic sensing, computer vision, and edge AI. Today, my interests include robot foundation models and active inference, with a focus on intelligent systems that can perceive, learn, and operate reliably in the physical world.
